Dreamweaver Level I

This course introduces the student to Macromedia Dreamweaver, an advanced tool for the design, layout and coding of web pages. The student will become familiar with cross-browser and browser version issues and be introduced to many of the principles of good web design. Special emphasis is placed on the efficient use of visual tools for designing high-impact web pages. Managing web sites and ensuring consistency throughout multiple pages as well as workgroup features are also examined including templates and libraries.

This class takes students to the next level in their understanding of Dreamweaver. Students will learn advanced Dreamweaver features, such as Behaviors and Timelines to create dynamic pages. Behaviors allow users to add complex JavaScript components to their web sites without having to write lines and lines of code. The building blocks of DHTML, Cascading Style Sheets and Layers, will also be covered in great detail.

The first of a two part training course, Level I will introduce the user to the principles of a multimedia project. The user will learn how to add and edit text and graphics into a cohesive application for standalone or World Wide Web use. The second of a two part training course, Level 2 will emphasize the use of the English-like Lingo scripting language. While score-based presentations can indeed be stunning, it is through the use of Lingo that the user can reach a whole new level of creativity in presentations. The user will get a preliminary basis of how Lingo operates and then move to specifics. Many of the techniques discussed are used in applications such as game-development, slideshow presentations, training CD-ROMS and complex animations, otherwise impossible in score-based Director.
