In areas where there is no fiber infrastructure, or where fiber connections are expensive or overburdened, you can receive information from the Internet via a satellite link to the Globix network. As Internet traffic is typically heavier FROM the Internet (4:1 ratio on average), this service is configured asymmetrically to provide you with the speed you need on the download side. You can continue to use existing terrestrial links for sending data.

Globix can configure the connection to provide dedicated access to the satellite for high data transfer requirements (via dedicated transponder space) or lower-cost shared access for lower data transfer needs. You choose the bandwidth you need on a regular basis, and have the flexibility to purchase burstable bandwidth on demand.

In areas where there is no fiber infrastructure or the existing terrestrial communications infrastructure isn’t sufficient, Globix will provide you with a two-way satellite link to the Internet via the Globix network. We can provide a symmetric connection, where data will be sent and received at the same speed, or an asymmetric connection, to accommodate heavier traffic on the download side.

You choose the bandwidth you need on a regular basis, with burstable bandwidth on demand. We can configure the connection to provide dedicated access to the satellite for high data transfer requirements or shared access for lower data transfer needs.

When you need to distribute data in realtime, or broadcast audio or video to multiple sites around the world simultaneously, Globix will broadcast your data via satellite at pre-designated intervals. This service is ideal for content providers, financial institutions, schools, ISPs or corporations, that need to keep multiple offices or Web sites current with up-to-the-minute information.

Customized Satellite Solutions
If you need to link multiple locations to the Internet, we will customize a solution to fit your needs. Globix can provide dedicated or shared access to the satellite, configure each connection as a receive-only or two-way link, and configure each two-way link symmetrically or asymmetrically. You choose the bandwidth you need on a regular basis, and have the flexibility purchase burstable bandwidth on demand.
