NEW YORK — April 27, 2000 —
As part of its recently announced network expansion plans, Globix Corporation (NASDAQ: GBIX),
a leader in advanced Internet data center services,
high-speed access, and streaming media solutions for businesses, today announced that it has
purchased additional network capacity from multiple vendors.
Globix has acquired a 2.5Gbps optical wavelength and multiple STM-1 transatlantic circuits that
give the Globix network capacity in excess of 14Gbps. The network will extend to eight cities:
London, New York, Boston, Chicago, Washington D.C., San Francisco, Seattle and Los Angeles.
“This agreement provides Globix bandwidth capacity for U.S. and transatlantic market expansion
that includes construction of new SuperPOP Internet Data Centers in Los Angeles, Seattle and Boston,
as well as additional facilities in New York, Santa Clara and London,” said Marc H. Bell, Chairman
and CEO of Globix. “We’re planning ahead for the increased traffic these new SuperPOPs will generate.
Customers choose Globix for both the quality of our SuperPOP facilities and the performance of our
advanced, high-speed network. By securing this upgrade in our capacity, we can guarantee that
performance.”
