EDGAR ONLINE Selects GLOBIX to Host High-Traffic Web Site for Real-Time SEC Electronic Filings

High-Capacity and Network Reliability Cited as Keys in Delivering SEC Filings and Related Business Intelligence

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, July 27, 1998 – Globix Corporation (Nasdaq: GBIX) announced that it will become the exclusive Internet Service Provider for EDGAR Online. Globix and EDGAR Online have entered into a five-year contract to provide Dedicated Access and Web Hosting at the Globix SuperPOP in New York City.

EDGAR – Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis and Retrieval – is the Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC’s) “paperless” company filing system. EDGAR Online (http://www.edgar-online.com) is the leading commercial provider of free and premium access to SEC filings and related business intelligence on the Internet. Additional services include value-added functions such as EDGAR Online People (http://www.edgar-online.com/people/), a new service that allows users to search the SEC filings by an executive’s name.

At no cost, customers can access far more information than can be found on the SEC’s own 24-hour delayed Web site. A $9.95/month subscription allows customers to access an additional level of information including real-time filings and the ability to download documents directly into Microsoft Word and other popular word processing programs. Subscribers also have access to EDGAR Online’s Watchlist feature that provides instant e-mail notification when specified Watchlist parameters are met.

EDGAR Online is the highest traffic Web site of real-time SEC electronic filings. Also available at EDGAR Online is easy access to many other Web-based information resources that allow both professional and individual investors to expand upon the information found in the SEC’s EDGAR filings.
