GLOBIX NAMED ONE OF NEW YORK’S FASTEST-GROWING TECHNOLOGY COMPANIES IN DELOITE & TOUCHE “FAST 50” PROGRAM
New York — September 26, 2000 —
Globix Corporation (NASDAQ: GBIX), a leader in advanced
Internet Data Center services, high-speed Internet access, and streaming media solutions for
business, has been named one of the 50 fastest-growing technology companies in the New York
region. Rankings are issued by Deloitte & Touche under its “Fast 50” Program and are based on the
percentage growth in revenues from 1995 to 1999 (a five-year period).
Globix CEO, Marc H. Bell, credits the company’s decision to move to the higher-profit Internet sector
from the value-added computer services business, as well as the rapid market adoption of Internet
technology, for the company’s 287 percent revenue growth over the past five years.
“We knew there would be growth in the Internet sector, which is the reason we invested in the
infrastructure to power it, but the tremendously fast spread of broadband has fueled demand for our
services and propelled our growth by leaps and bounds,” Bell said. “We are honored to be listed in
the Fast 50 for a second year in a row.”
“To attain a listing on the Fast 50 is no easy feat, and we at Deloitte & Touche congratulate Globix
for attaining this honor,” said Noel Spiegel, Deloitte & Touche partner-in-charge of the Technology
and Communications practice in the Tri-State Region.
Spiegel continued, “Today, there are more than 22,000 technology companies in the United States,
many of whom are competing for the same markets here in the states and worldwide. The Fast 50
winners for the New York region have proven that they can compete successfully by consistently
delivering technological wonders. We at Deloitte & Touche commend Globix for having the vision
and determination to become one of the 50 fastest-growing technology companies in the New York
The 287 percent increase in Globix revenues from 1995 to 1999 resulted in Globix ranking 41st
overall in the New York region Fast 50.
To qualify, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 1995 and
$1,000,000 in 1999, be headquartered in New York and be “technology companies” — defined as
companies that produce technology, manufacture a technology product or devote a high percentage
of effort to research and development of technology.
Winners of the 21 regional Fast 50 programs in the United States are automatically entered in the
Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 500 program, which ranks the nation’s top 500 fastest-growing
technology companies. For more information on the Deloitte & Touche Fast 50 or Fast 500 programs,
