GLOBIX APPOINTS ALFRED BINFORD AS SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF GLOBIX AND PRESIDENT OF ITS NETWORK SERVICES GROUP

NEW YORK — NY, Internet World Fall 2000 — October 25, 2000 — Globix Corporation (NASDAQ: GBIX), announced that Alfred Binford has joined its senior management team as Senior Vice President of Globix and President of its Network Services Group. The Network Services Group at Globix is the umbrella organization for all of its Internet and global network services, including Dedicated Access to the Internet, Broadband DSL and more.

Mr. Binford comes to Globix from RealNetworks Inc., a leading developer and marketer of media-delivery software and services for the Internet, where he was Senior Vice President of broadcast services and President of its Real Broadcast Network division.

Prior to that, Mr. Binford served as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Intermedia Communications, the parent of Digex Corporation, the largest U.S. independent Competitive Local Exchange Company (CLEC) and a leading provider of Internet and data services. There he managed marketing, strategic planning and business development efforts for a product portfolio including frame relay and ATM.

Previously, Mr. Binford was president and CEO of Bell Atlantic Long Distance (now Verizon Communications), where he started up the long distance company and directed its plans for entry into the long-distance business. In 1995 and 1996, he also managed the teams in charge of Bell Atlantic’s local toll services, a $1.4 billion business.

Before Bell Atlantic, during his 11-year tenure at AT&T;, Mr. Binford held positions of increasing responsibility in network operations, customer service delivery, sales, regulation and product marketing, including the management of highly profitable product lines representing more than $12 billion in annualized revenues.

“Globix is one of a few companies that owns and controls all major elements of its own network, enabling superior reliability, speed and security,” Mr. Binford said. “I look forward to leading efforts to use our high-capacity network to drive accelerated revenues, and expand the Globix customer base. We have a tremendous opportunity to provide advanced network solutions to very attractive industry segments, including enterprise and carrier customers. These network services will complement our expanding portfolio of Hosting, Data Center and Applications Services solutions.”

“With the rapid expansion of one of the largest peering-based networks and the deployment of our upgraded network nearing completion, Globix is poised for significant growth,” said Marc H. Bell, chairman and CEO of Globix. “Al’s extensive experience in the strategic development of network businesses, and his broad understanding of the industry, make him eminently qualified to lead these efforts.”
