GLOBIX TEAMS WITH HOUSE OF BLUES TO PRODUCE SUMO SUMMER CONCERT SERIES

Globix to Provide Streaming Media Services for the Hottest Summer Concerts


NEW YORK, NEW YORK, June 10, 1999Globix Corporation (NASDAQ: GBIX), a leading provider of Internet connectivity and sophisticated Internet-based solutions, announced today that House of Blues has contracted Globix to provide an integrated streaming media solution for its 1999 Sumo Summer Concert Series. Globix will provide all production streaming media services needed for House of Blues to deliver the online broadcasts for a series of events over 16 days to music fans around the world.

House of Blues chose Globix to produce these events because of the Company’s strong record in delivering high-quality streaming media services. Since 1998, Globix has been chosen to provide streaming media services for a recent David Bowie concert from Irving Plaza; the online broadcast of "Dead Broke," a new-release feature film starring Paul Sorvino; the pre-race events from the Indianapolis 500 and many other streaming events. For the HOB events, Globix will provide the on-site production and will encode the broadcasts using a variety of streaming media formats, enabling users to view the broadcasts with optimal clarity over the Internet.

Events scheduled for the “House of Blues” Sumo Summer Concert Series include: three exclusive dates of OzzFest 99, featuring Black Sabbath, the first being live from the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ (June 10); Cher/Cyndi Lauper live from Holmdel, NJ (July 6); Berlin with The Go-Go’s (July 10); Ziggy Marley (July 12), among others. One of the marquis events is Summerfest 99 live from Milwaukee, WI, June 24 through July 4, featuring: The B-52’s, Jimmie Vaughan, and Big Head Todd and the Monsters. All of these events can be viewed on the Internet exclusively at www.hob.com.
