Design

Globix works with businesses to gain an understanding of individual networking requirements and develop the network architecture. This includes establishing the physical routes the network will take, determining the SONET and optical layer design, and specifying the equipment configuration. Once this is complete, we will deliver a comprehensive plan with detailed configurations for each site, fiber maps, time lines, and cost estimates.

Build

Globix assigns a Project Manager to oversee the construction of each network. This individual is the single point of contact, working to coordinate the efforts of the various groups involved in the project and to ensure that the project stays on track. Also during this phase, we will secure the elements required to implement the design, which could include negotiating rights-of-way, leasing space, and procuring equipment.

Maintain

Globix offers a full suite of managed services to keep networks running once they are built. This includes monitoring the SONET and optical layers to ensure that the network performs at the level each individual business demands.

Globix offers Custom Private Optical Network Solutions on an individual case-by-case basis. The foundation for any solution can either be at the SONET or DWDM layer, and can support multiple protocols such as Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, ATM, as well as storage protocols like Fibre Channel.

In this example, we were able not only to provide a network that connected the customer’s campuses and off-site data storage, but also connected them to multiple carriers. This allowed the customer to choose which carrier they wanted to purchase services from, on an application-by-application basis.
