The Broadband Jumpstart initiative, announced in September, is an industry coalition that builds on the Windows Media technology platform to provide the first end-to-end, open solution for promoting mainstream broadband adoption by removing technological and market obstacles. The initiative has two fundamental objectives: To provide consumers with a greater selection of high-quality content by improving broadband business models, and to accelerate the adoption of broadband services by home users.
‘By utilizing the features that Windows Media provides, Globix is able to offer its clients and their end users the best possible broadband experience. When it comes to quality and adoption of broadband content, Microsoft has proven to be a leader,’ said Dan Rayburn, Worldwide Product Manager of Streaming Media for Globix Corporation.
