Globix Names Shawn P. Brosnan as Finance Chief, John D. McCarthy as Head of Strategy and Business Development

Brosnan currently Senior Vice President, Corporate Controller/Chief Accounting Officer has been named Acting Chief Financial Officer responsible for all financial matters relating to Globix. Effective immediately, John D. McCarthy becomes Senior Vice President, Business Development and Strategic Planning responsible for all strategic business development matters related to Globix.Mr. Brosnan has been directly involved with the recent reorganization and successful emergence of Globix from the Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, and has been extensively involved in Globix’s financial and operational restructuring throughout the United States and in Europe.

Mr. Brosnan joined Globix in November 1999 as a Vice President, Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer and was later named Senior Vice President, in August 2001. Prior to joining Globix, Mr. Brosnan spent more than 15 years with Ernst & Young, one of the leading professional services organizations worldwide. During his tenure at Ernst & Young, he was a business advisor with extensive experience in the areas of accounting, finance, financial reporting, mergers and acquisitions and process improvement. Mr. Brosnan is a certified public accountant and received his BS in accounting from Providence College.
John D. McCarthy, who had been acting Chief Financial Officer since April, 2002, will assume the role of Senior Vice President, Business Development and Strategic Planning, with responsibility for M&A and strategic business development activities.

Mr. McCarthy joined Globix in March 2001 as Managing Director for the Application Services Group and was later named Vice-President for Financial Planning and Analysis. Prior to Globix he held financial, operational and strategy positions with United Technologies, Young & Rubicam and LC39 Venture Group. He received an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an MA in International Studies from Penn’s Lauder Institute. His BA is from Connecticut College.
