Charming Shoppes Selects Globix for Complex Hosting

NEW YORK – Sept. 26, 2001 – Globix Corporation (NASDAQ: GBIX) today announced that Charming Shoppes Interactive, Inc., a division of Charming Shoppes Inc. (NASDAQ: CHRS), one of America’s largest women’s specialty apparel retailers and a Fortune 1000 company, has selected Globix to provide hosting and network services as it adds e-commerce functionality to its retail operations. On Aug. 15, Catherine’s Plus Sizes was the second of Charming Shoppes’ six retail brands to go online, launching the first part of a three-phase plan that culminates with full e-commerce capabilities.The new Catherine’s Web site, www.catherines.com, is hosted in the Globix state-of-the-art Internet Data Center in New York City, where Globix is providing complex hosting, monitoring, reporting and security. Globix is also providing network services to Charming Interactive.
Of Charming Shoppes’ six retail brands offering women’s fashions and accessories, Catherine’s is the second to go online, joining Lane Bryant, which has been on-line since 1997. Phase One of www.catherines.com focuses on content and community, including fashion advice and information on store locations. Phase Two will add catalog-browsing capabilities. In the future, Charming Shoppes will introduce full e-commerce functionality to the Web sites. The remaining four Charming Shoppes brands, which include Fashion Bug®, The AnswerTM, Monsoon® and Accessorize®, will be brought online in the future with the support of Globix.
