Globix Taps Ericsson Executive to Run European SalesNEW YORK – August 28, 2001
LONDON – August 28, 2001 – Globix Ltd. today announced the appointment of Jacob M. Goldman as Vice President responsible for sales operations for Globix throughout Europe. Goldman joins Globix from Ericsson Mobile Internet where he was Global Head of Sales and Marketing for the banking and finance sector.
Goldman will be based in the newly opened Globix Internet Data Centre, Globix House, situated in the heart of London’s financial district. This new facility complements the Prospect House Data Centre in the West End. UK customers include Corporate Television Networks, ebookers.com, ITN, Sky Rock, Time Out, V2 Records and VNU Business Media.

At Ericsson Mobile Internet, Goldman was responsible for Internet services and applications and coordinated a sales force in 40 countries. Prior to this he served as Executive Vice President at Schlumberger’s (formerly Solaic) SmartCard and transaction systems subsidiary in the United States, where he established joint ventures and strategic partnerships, and as European Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Mitsubishi Corp. in its French telecom electronics manufacturing division, where he set up and managed the European sales network.
Goldman is a founding member of the Radicchio (WPKI) Forum and has participated actively in the WAP forum’s E-commerce Expert Group (ECOMEG), the Mobile Electronic Transaction Forum (MeT), MOBEY, the Global Mobile Commerce Group (GMCG) and ETSI.
He has an MBA from the Wharton School of Business, a master’s degree in chemistry from the University of Hamburg, Germany, and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and foreign languages from Duke University.
