Bell Technology Group Announces Name Change to Globix Corporation

New York, New York, June 1, 1998 – Bell Technology Group Ltd. (Nasdaq Small Cap: BELT, BELTW) (BSE: BTG, BTGW) is changing its name to Globix Corporation. (The new symbols are (Nasdaq Small Cap: GBIX, GBIXW)( BSE: GXC, GXCW). Company President and CEO, Marc H. Bell said recently, “As our business evolves and becomes more global in nature, we are taking the opportunity to change our name to one that more accurately reflects our planned global presence”. Mr. Bell emphasized that this is a change of name only. “Our people and the services we offer remain the same. We are, and will continue to be, a leading provider of Internet service for New York businesses. As our name changes to Globix, we have plans to make the company more global in nature. In fact, our new name is derived from the words Global Internet Exchange.”

Globix is planning major infrastructure enhancements to make the Company more global in its scope. The existing New York SuperPOP facility is being expanded. In addition, new SuperPOPs are planned in both San Francisco and London. Globix will expand its network, and become a Tier 1 Internet backbone provider. To Globix customers, the advantages of this expansion include faster routing of both originating and terminating Internet traffic; the improved ability to serve new audiences with dedicated access to the Internet; and visibility across a wider geography. We will continue to be alert for opportunities to acquire or partner with companies that will add to our ability to provide world-class solutions to our customers,” Mr. Bell continued.

Globix will continue to provide sophisticated and innovative one-stop Internet solutions, including dedicated Internet access, Web Hosting, Co-location, network and systems integration, interactive media development (including 2-D and 3-D animation) and instructor-led corporate training.

Mr. Bell concluded by saying, “As we move forward into the new millenium, Globix will continue to provide excellence in services, always looking ahead for new and better ways to help our valued customers, solve their business problems and become more productive, efficient and effective.”
