Globix Expands Operations into London, UK

NEW YORK – October 19, 1998

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, October 19th, 1998 – Globix Corporation (NASDAQ: GBIX),a leading Internet Service Provider and one-stop supplier of total Internet solutions for businesses, has signed a lease for a 34,000 square foot facility in London. The new location will boast a state-of-the-art data center and reflects the corporation’s growth strategy for building a global network.

The new facility is ideally situated in the heart of London’s West End, (W1 district), near the junction of Tottenham Court Road and New Oxford Street. It is in the commercial center of the city and benefits from exceptional access to London’s major rail lines. It is the first Globix data center outside of the United States and signifies the beginning of an international presence. The facility will be fully operational during the first calendar quarter of 1999.

The London location will provide Globix with 34,000 square feet on three floors of newly renovated space. 14,000 square feet will be designated for a state-of-the-art Internet Data Center for providing Internet access and Web hosting and co-location servers. Special features, such as an FM200 dry fire-suppression system, backup generator and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) offer customers the latest in system protection and reinforce our position as a leading Internet provider.

The growing market for high-speed Dedicated Access to the Internet and for Web Hosting, Co-location, streaming media, E-Commerce and security solutions has fueled the Globix expansion. In response to these increased market demands, Globix has begun construction on a network that will run in a ring around the continental United States and travel over another ring on the Gemini cable into the United Kingdom.
