Globix Partners with Covad for DSL Service

New York, New York, February 22, 1999 Globix Corporation (Nasdaq: GBIX) ) a leading provider of Internet service and one-stop Internet-based solutions for businesses, has reached an agreement for DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) service with Covad Communications Company, (NASDAQ: COVD) a high-speed DSL Internet connectivity provider. The relationship was established to assist Globix with the deployment of one of its newest services – Globix SDSL Internet Access, a high-capacity, SDSL (Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line) Internet connection.

Globix SDSL Internet Access is a business-quality solution, which provides symmetric data flow – enabling customers to simultaneously send and receive information at the same speed. It offers Internet connectivity at speeds nearly 40 times faster than most dial-up modem connections and more than eight times faster than dual-channel ISDN. In addition, Globix SDSL Internet Access links customers directly to the Globix facilities via a round-the-clock connection that’s always ‘on,’ bypassing busy signals and eliminating wait time. And unlike an ISDN line, SDSL is not subject to usage-sensitive pricing.
