Globix Provides Complete Internet Streaming Solutions for A&E;’s Live by Request Series

NEW YORK – January 4, 2000

Globix Corporation (NASDAQ:GBIX) has announced that it is providing A&E;’s Live by Request with an end-to-end streaming solution for the Webcast concert series and hosting of the Live By Request homepage (www.livebyrequest.com).

Globix provides these services under agreement with Automatic Productions, the New York-based television, film and video production company that produces Live By Request. The next show will feature the Eurythmics, airing January 19, 2000 at 9:00 p.m. EST.

In addition to a two hour live television broadcast on the A&E; Network, (reaching over 78 million households in North America) and a national radio simulcast, A&E;’s Live By Request is now also Webcast live via www.livebyrequest.com. In keeping with the unique, interactive format of the series, Live By Request performers take song requests throughout the broadcast via either an 800 number or the livebyrequest.com Web site.

Globix has also provided the video streaming and Web site hosting solutions for recent Live By Request concerts, including: Earth Wind and Fire (July 17th, 1999) Reba McEntire (November 23rd 1999)

The Globix Streaming Media Group provides a multi-faceted solution for the concert series. For these events, Globix will provide a single-source service that encompasses live encoding, hosting both the streams and the Web site in the Company’s state-of-the-art Internet Data Center and broadcasting over the Globix Network. Using Microsoft’s streaming media platform, Windows Media, Globix will encode the broadcast for a range of Internet connection speeds and provide a worldwide audience with access to this special event.
